Artikel 91 is de eerste sport van de GPAI-handhavingsladder van de Commissie: de bevoegdheid om de papieren op te eisen. De technische documentatie van de artikelen 53 en 55 bestaat om overlegbaar te zijn — deze bepaling toetst of dat geen bluf is.

- De Commissie kan een GPAI-aanbieder verzoeken de krachtens de artikelen 53 en 55 opgestelde documentatie te verstrekken, of aanvullende informatie die nodig is om naleving te beoordelen
- Ook de AI-board kan, op gemotiveerd verzoek, de Commissie vragen zo'n verzoek te doen
- Verzoeken stellen een termijn; de aanbieder — of zijn gemachtigde — moet leveren, en onjuiste of onvolledige antwoorden zijn zelfstandig beboetbaar
Nalevingstijdlijn
Van toepassing vanaf 2 augustus 2026; de Digitale Omnibus van 2026 stelde de materiële hoogrisicoverplichtingen uit (bijlage III naar 2 december 2027, bijlage I naar 2 augustus 2028) maar verplaatste deze bepaling niet.
