O artigo 56 encarrega o Serviço para a IA de facilitar os códigos de boas práticas — o instrumento que converte as obrigações GPAI dos artigos 53 e 55 em prática concreta. Até existirem normas harmonizadas, aderir a um código é a via prática para demonstrar conformidade.

- O Serviço para a IA facilita códigos que cobrem pelo menos os deveres dos artigos 53 e 55: documentação, informação a jusante, direitos de autor, atenuação do risco sistémico
- Os códigos deviam estar prontos o mais tardar até 2 de maio de 2025, elaborados com fornecedores, autoridades e partes interessadas
- A Comissão pode aprovar um código e dar-lhe validade geral na União por ato de execução — ou fixar regras comuns se nenhum código adequado se concretizar
