Člen 88 razsodi, kdo nadzoruje modele UI za splošne namene: izključno Komisija, delujoča prek Urada za UI. Nacionalni organi nadzorujejo sisteme UI; za modele pod njimi je izvrševanje centralizirano v Bruslju.
